Implications of clean energy, oil and emissions pricing for the GCC energy sector stock

In this study, we analyse the implications of clean energy, oil and emission prices for energy sector stock in GCC region. so doing, estimate one-day-ahead value at risk (VaR) expected shortfall (ES) Saudi, Abu Dhabi Kuwaiti over short long trading positions using three different memory Autoregressive conditional heteroskedasticity (ARCH)/ Generalized(G)- ARCH models: fractionally integrated asymmetric power (FIAPARCH), generalized autoregressive heteroscedastic (FIGARCH) hyperbolic (HYGARCH). GARCH model, employ global indexes: production, crude CO2 as exogenous regressors to consider their impacts on volatilities. Our findings indicate presence asymmetry, fat-tails price volatilities, that do not play a significant role daily returns volatility. The FIAPARCH produces most accurate VaR Saudi Kuwait sectors, while HYGARCH performs better index. study has profound policy, pricing investment strategies entailing stock.
